Performance marketing for Ludhiana winterwear

Our performance marketing services in Ludhiana plan what a knitwear brand’s ad spend must return through a short, regional winter. Targets move as prices fall, and the budget follows the cold, the stock and the margin left.

In short

  • Performance marketing services in Ludhiana set a winterwear brand’s ad targets, season budget and stop rules before spend starts, from margin rather than platform reports.
  • Full price, festive deals and clearance each leave a different margin, so a winterwear brand needs a break-even ROAS for each price stage.
  • Winterwear spend gathers in a few weeks, so the season’s total budget and its release schedule should be set before the first cold.
  • Dealer enquiries from search ads can be judged as sales by uploading the bookings they become into Google Ads as offline conversions.
  • We plan Ludhiana budgets remotely from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi; Google, Meta and the marketplaces bill media spend directly to the brand.

Performance marketing services in Ludhiana decide what a knitwear brand’s ad spend must return in a short, regional winter, how the budget moves through it, and when spend stops. We plan all three before any money moves, from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi.

The campaigns themselves, from region targeting to texture close-ups, are covered on our page about ecommerce services in Ludhiana. This page is the planning layer above them: the targets, the season’s budget, the stop rules and the tests that feed them.

We run brands of our own as well, which is why every plan here starts from margin.

Why does a winterwear target change mid-season?

Because the price changes. A jacket sold at full price in December, the same jacket in a festive deal and the same jacket at clearance after Lohri each leave a different margin, and the margin is what pays for the ads.

Illustration: a jacket sells for ₹ 1,500 net of GST and leaves ₹ 500 before ads, a break-even ROAS of 3. At a clearance price of ₹ 1,200, if the costs stayed the same, ₹ 200 remains, and break-even ROAS rises to 6.

ROAS, return on ad spend, divides the sales an ad platform credits by what was spent. One target across the whole season would overspend at clearance and underspend at full price, so the plan carries a target for each price stage and each product group.

Clearance styles move to campaigns of their own, with their own target, rather than dragging one target down through the season. Our break-even ROAS calculator works out the line for any price and cost; the plan does it for every stage before the first cold.

How big should a Ludhiana season budget be?

As big as the stock and the margin can carry, and no bigger. Winterwear spend gathers into a few weeks, so the plan fixes the season’s total before it opens, with a range for each stage and the trigger that releases it.

A hand writing on a sheet of paper at a white table, a cup and a small plant beyond

The total is built from the bottom. For each product group we take the pieces you plan to sell online at each price stage, multiply by what an order can afford in ads at that stage, and set the range around the result.

The total is then released in stages, each with a trigger rather than a date:

  • Festive sale weeks. A small share, released once listings are live with stock, to earn the first ratings.
  • The first cold regions. Released when your own orders from the hills and the north-west start rising week on week.
  • The plains. Released as the cold spreads, provided the core sizes of each advertised style hold.
  • Lohri gifting. A separate line for gift-led creative, stopped once an order can no longer arrive before the day.
  • Clearance. Its own campaigns and target, opened when the clearance price is set.

Within each stage the budget is split by job: search and marketplace ads for buyers already looking, Meta video for buyers who have not yet thought about a new sweater, and a small line for last winter’s buyers, who usually cost least to win back.

Cash sets the ceiling. Google and Meta charge as spend builds up, in the months when a knitwear house’s money is already tied up in yarn and finished stock, so the plan shows weekly spend beside the weeks it is likely to fall.

Which regions should a Ludhiana budget open first?

The ones your own orders say are cold now. Last season’s kept orders by delivery state and pincode show where your buyers are and when they start buying; this season’s weekly orders from each region decide when its campaigns open and close.

Google’s location targeting can reach people who are in a place or regularly there, or also people who have shown interest in it. For winterwear we usually choose presence, so a jacket ad reaches people in the cold rather than people reading about it.

The exception is travel. Shoppers in warm cities buy jackets and thermals before a trip to the hills, and their searches often name the trip or the place.

A small campaign on those searches, run nationally with its own target, can earn its place where presence campaigns would not.

Regions are compared on kept orders after returns and refusals. Cash-on-delivery refusals run higher in some areas than others, and a region whose parcels come back unopened earns less than its order count suggests.

When should winter spend stop?

When a rule written before the season says so. Winter decisions come fast, and an argument about pausing in the middle of the peak costs more than the pause, so each rule and its restart condition is agreed with you in advance.

  • Sizes. A style leaves the ads when its middle sizes fall below the depth agreed in the plan, whether or not its ROAS still looks healthy.
  • Weather. A warm spell in a region pauses its campaigns until orders from it recover.
  • Delivery. Gift-led campaigns stop once an order can no longer reach the buyer before Lohri.
  • Clearance floor. Clearance campaigns stop when the price falls to the point where a sale leaves nothing to pay for the ad.
  • Carry-forward. Styles you decide to keep for next winter come out of clearance spend altogether.
  • Tracking. If purchases stop recording, or record twice, spend that relies on automated bidding is held until the data is fixed.

Every stop appears in that week’s report with the rule that triggered it.

Restarts come back in steps, because Meta sends an ad set back into its learning phase after significant edits, and Google advises small, spaced changes to budgets and targets while a campaign is new.

Can search ads bring wholesale dealers?

They can, and for a Ludhiana house that still sells mainly to dealers they may matter more than consumer ads. Dealers who book before the season look for suppliers by product and city, months before shoppers start searching for sweaters.

The campaign is built on trade terms, such as wholesale thermals or woollen sweaters from Ludhiana, and sends dealers to an enquiry form or a call. It runs in the warm months, when bookings are made, on a budget and target of its own.

Calls and forms are not sales, so each enquiry is logged with its source, and the bookings it becomes are uploaded to Google Ads as offline conversions. The campaign is then judged on booked orders and their margin, not on the number of calls.

Dealers who would rather phone or message get a number tagged to the campaign, and each booking made that way is logged against it like a form.

A dealer booking is larger than a consumer order and slower to arrive, so the plan reads this campaign over the whole booking season rather than week by week.

What should a Ludhiana brand test, and when?

Test in the weeks the regional lag gives you. The hills and the north-west turn cold before the plains, so their first weeks are a test bed: creative proven there in the early season goes into the plains campaigns before the cold arrives.

Each round answers one question, on the same budget, and is judged on cost per kept order:

  • Texture or use. A close-up of the knit against the sweater worn outdoors.
  • Warmth or gift. A warmth-led opening against a gift-led one, for shawls and cardigans before Lohri.
  • Fibre or price. Opening with the fibre, wool or a blend, against opening with the price.
  • Language. A Punjabi or Hindi opening line against English, read separately for Punjab and for the rest of the north.

Winning creative goes into new ad sets built for the plains before the peak, rather than into edits of live ones during it. Building and running the ads sits with our Google Ads and Meta Ads management; the questions and decisions sit in the plan.

How is a short season measured fairly?

By reading two sets of numbers: what the platforms report each week, and what your orders show once returns and refusals have landed. Winter returns arrive after the peak, so reconciled figures lag, and earlier weeks are restated as they come in.

Above both sits MER, the marketing efficiency ratio: all revenue divided by all marketing spend, marketplace sales included. A Meta campaign that sends buyers to search for your brand on a marketplace shows up there, even when its own report shows nothing.

Sponsored ads on the marketplaces share the same budget and the same stop rules, and the panel stock decides what they can advertise; our page on marketplace account management in Ludhiana covers that side.

The season closes with a report by product group and region: which targets held, which regions opened too early or too late, and what next winter’s plan should change.

Size charts and returns behind those numbers are covered in our guide on how to sell clothes online in India.

How do performance marketing services in Ludhiana run?

Through your own accounts, a written plan, a weekly report in the season and a monthly one through the summer, all from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi, without visits. Your ad accounts stay in your name, and media spend never passes through us.

  • Read access to every ad account in scope: Google, Meta and the marketplaces.
  • A cost sheet by product group, with freight and expected returns.
  • Last season’s orders by state, with returned and refused orders marked.
  • The stock plan by style and size, and the dates stock will be ready.
  • The dealer enquiry log, if trade campaigns are part of the plan.

Our fee is quoted on scope, with GST at 18% charged as IGST to a business registered in Punjab. The general method behind these targets is set out on our performance marketing services page.

To begin, send your cost sheet and last winter’s orders by region.

Questions

Questions Ludhiana brands ask about ad plans

How much do performance marketing services cost in Ludhiana?
The fee depends on the channels and marketplaces in the plan, how many product groups need targets, and whether dealer campaigns are included. We quote after reading your ad accounts and cost sheets, with GST at 18% as IGST for a business registered in Punjab. Google, Meta and the marketplaces bill your media spend directly.
What ROAS should a sweater brand target?
One that each price stage can carry: a sweater at full price can accept a lower ROAS than the same sweater at clearance, because the discount comes out of the margin that pays for ads. We set a break-even line and a target for every stage before the season.
When should a winterwear brand start its ads?
Plan in late summer, test in the festive weeks and the first cold regions, and release the main budget as your own orders from each region start rising. The peak should be spent on ads that have already sold, not on first attempts.
Should I advertise winterwear across all of India?
Mostly not. Open campaigns where it is cold and where your past orders came from, and close them as each region warms. A small national campaign on travel searches, such as jackets for a trip to the hills, can be the exception, judged on its own target.
Can Google Ads bring wholesale buyers for knitwear?
Yes, through search campaigns on trade terms that send dealers to an enquiry form or a call, run in the months when bookings are made. Each enquiry is logged by source and the bookings it becomes are uploaded as offline conversions, so the campaign is judged on orders.
Do Punjabi ads work better than Hindi or English for winterwear?
Only a test can say, and the answer can differ between Punjab and the rest of the north. We run one language against another on the same creative and budget, read by region, and keep what wins on orders kept.
When should winter ads stop?
When a rule agreed before the season says so: middle sizes below the agreed depth, a warm spell in a region, a gift that can no longer arrive before Lohri, or a clearance price with no margin left. Each stop is reported with the rule behind it.
Can you plan our budget if our own staff run the ads?
Yes. We set the targets, the season budget and the stop rules and report weekly, while your staff build and run the campaigns. The plan stays in writing, so a change of hands in December does not reset it.
