Performance marketing for Pune brands
Our performance marketing services in Pune set what each rupee of ad spend must return for founder-led brands, then pace the budget through Ganeshotsav, Diwali, the school year and the monsoon. We plan remotely from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi, and report one number every week.

What a Pune media plan works around
- Festive run
- Raksha Bandhan, Ganeshotsav, Navratri, Diwali in sequence
- School-year windows
- April, June and the February board exams
- Monsoon season
- Trek gear demand, slower deliveries
- Audiences
- Students, new joiners, families, trekkers and runners
- Language test
- Marathi against English or Hindi
- Planned from
- Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi, remotely
In short
- Performance marketing for a Pune brand starts from margin: break-even and target figures per channel, worked out before Ganeshotsav and Diwali budgets are set.
- A Pune brand selling nationally can weight its budget towards Maharashtra for Ganeshotsav and spread it across India for Diwali, since the festivals peak differently.
- Creative tests, including Marathi against English, belong in quiet weeks before Raksha Bandhan, so the festive season opens with ads that have already proved themselves.
- Personal care advertising in India is judged against the ASCI code on claims, so a skincare plan tests texture, routine and ingredients, not promised results.
- We plan Pune brands’ performance marketing remotely from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi; media spend is billed by Google, Meta and the marketplaces, not by us.
Our performance marketing services in Pune plan the ad spend of founder-led brands before it is spent: targets set from margin, budgets paced through the city’s festive and school calendar, and one number reported weekly. We do it remotely from Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi.
We run brands of our own as well, and for them too we decide what an order is worth before we spend. Applied to a Pune brand, that means nobody raises a budget for Ganeshotsav until the margin says how high it can safely go.
What Pune founders need from a media plan
Many Pune founders run their first Meta ads from a phone. Sales grow, spend grows faster, and before long nobody can say which rupee earned its keep. What is missing is a plan written before the money moves.
That plan has three parts. A margin model per product group, which sets break-even and target figures for each channel. A monthly budget range, paced weekly. And stop rules, agreed in advance, that pause spend when continuing would cost more than it earns.
Founders from engineering and software tend to ask for the working, and they should get it. The margin model is a shared sheet you can audit line by line, and every target in the weekly report traces back to it.
The campaigns themselves are built and run under our Google Ads management in Pune, and the purchase data every target depends on comes from tracking and attribution. This page is about the plan above them.
Setting targets for Pune’s usual categories
Pune brands cluster in a few categories, and each one moves its break-even line in a different direction. The target follows the product’s economics, not a figure borrowed from another brand.

| Category | What moves break-even | How the plan treats it |
|---|---|---|
| Skincare and haircare | Reorders, subscriptions, claims rules | A thinner first order allowed only where your own data shows the second |
| Fitness and trek gear | Shipping on size and weight, size returns | Higher break-even; bulky items modelled one by one |
| Stationery | Low order values, fixed fees | Targets set per bundle, not per pen |
| Festive decorations | Worth little after the festival date | A hard stop date and leftover stock in the model |
| Kurtas and festive wear | Size returns after the occasion | Revenue counted after the return window closes |
Personal care needs the most care. A brand whose buyers reorder can accept a costlier first order, but only on the strength of its own repeat data. Our page on selling personal care products online covers the category’s labelling and claims rules.
Trek gear runs the other way. Boots, backpacks and benches carry shipping charged on size as well as weight, and returns cost freight both ways, so their break-even sits higher than a light product’s.
Our page on selling fitness products online covers that category, from size charts to returns.
Budgeting Ganeshotsav to Diwali as one season
In Pune, Raksha Bandhan, Ganeshotsav, Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali arrive within weeks of one another, so we budget them as one season with a hold for each. Spend the festive money on Ganeshotsav and Diwali, the larger national date, goes short.
- Regional weight. Ganeshotsav is celebrated most heavily in Maharashtra, so a brand selling nationally can weight its budget towards Maharashtra for those ten days, then spread it across India for Diwali.
- Date stops. Decoration and puja-item spend carries a written stop date, set by the last order that can arrive before Chaturthi.
- Sale events. The marketplaces’ festive sales usually fall around Navratri and Diwali, when storefront traffic competes with deep marketplace discounts; the plan decides where buyers are sent.
- Late results. Festive returns arrive after the immersion days and after Diwali, so each festival is judged again once its returns land.
Peak weeks usually cost more per click and per thousand impressions. We enter them with creative already proven in quieter weeks, and cut back early afterwards. Our guide to festive sale planning for online sellers walks through the preparation step by step.
The monsoon and the school year
Outside the festive run, two Pune seasons decide where budget goes: the monsoon, from June to September, and the school year, which opens in April for CBSE schools and in June for state board schools.

The monsoon is Pune’s trekking season. Rain jackets, trekking shoes and waterproof bags earn budget from late May; whether spend should lean towards the days before each weekend’s treks is a test worth running, not an assumption.
The same rain slows deliveries through the ghats. When the promised date slips, the stop rule on delivery applies: ads for products that cannot arrive in time are cut back before the reviews say so.
Stationery budgets follow the two school openings and the run-up to the February board exams. Each window gets its own hold, released in the weeks before it opens, because a back-to-school ad seen after term has started is spend with no buyer behind it.
Stop rules written for Pune’s year
Every plan carries written rules for when spend stops, and in Pune several of them are set by the calendar rather than by results. Agreeing them before the season means nobody argues for a pause while a festival is under way.
- The Chaturthi date. Decoration spend ends when the last order that can arrive before Chaturthi has passed.
- Road closures. On the main immersion days, and while the palkhi processions halt in the city, ads promising quick delivery to the old city are paused.
- School stock. Kit ads stop when any item in the kit runs short, because a kit missing one item is not a kit.
- Tracking. If purchases stop recording, or record twice, automated bidding is held until the data is fixed.
- Returns. A trek-gear product whose size or damage returns push it below break-even comes out of ads until its listing or packing is fixed.
Every stop is reported in the week it happens, with the rule that triggered it and the condition for restarting. Restarts come back in steps, because large changes can send automated bidding back into learning.
Testing Marathi and other open questions
Each creative test answers one question, with a fixed budget and a written result, and Pune’s calendar decides when each question is worth asking. We schedule tests for quiet weeks, so the festive season opens with answers rather than guesses.
- Gudi Padwa, March or April. Marathi against English or Hindi on a Maharashtrian occasion, measured on orders kept after returns.
- June. Price-led against product-in-use openings for trek gear, before the monsoon peak.
- July. Ganeshotsav creative, with the Marathi result from Gudi Padwa applied.
- September. Diwali gifting angles, run before the marketplaces’ sale events push auction prices up.
Marathi copy should be written or checked by a fluent speaker on your side. Claims in personal care creative are checked against the ASCI code before any brief goes out, so tests compare ideas rather than risk a rejected ad.
Students, new joiners and families as audiences
Pune gives a brand several distinct audiences, and the plan keeps their numbers apart. Students and new joiners, festival and school-term families, and the city’s trekkers, runners and cyclists each get their own budget line and cost per new customer.
Students arrive at the start of each academic year, and IT parks bring new joiners through the year. Both buy much of what they need online, mostly read English or Hindi, and respond to price; their first orders are cheap to win and often small.
Families buy less often and spend more, around Ganeshotsav, Diwali and the school openings. Blending the two audiences under one target hides both: the student line looks efficient on cost, the family line on order value, and neither is judged fairly.
Store or marketplace: where Pune ads should land
Many Pune brands sell on their own store and on Amazon or Flipkart at once, so the plan states where each campaign sends buyers, and why.
The store keeps more of each sale and holds the customer for a reorder. A marketplace listing often converts better, because buyers already trust its delivery and its returns.
For skincare refills the store usually earns more, since the margin sits in the second order. For trek gear and stationery, Amazon and Flipkart often do better, because buyers compare there anyway and the marketplace handles the return.
An Instagram reel can also send a buyer to search for your product on Amazon, where no pixel follows. We read that spillover through MER and your marketplace sales, not through any one platform’s dashboard.
Each marketplace reports its ads in its own ratio, so we convert them to one basis before they reach the weekly report. Our guide to ROAS, ACoS and TACoS explains how the three relate.
The weekly report a Pune founder receives
Every week you receive one page that opens with one number, usually MER or contribution after ad spend, against target, with a sentence on why it moved. Platform-reported results sit beside results reconciled with your orders.
Reconciliation matters in Pune for a plain reason. Cash orders to hostels and shared flats are refused more often than prepaid ones, and festive returns land weeks after the festival, so platform figures run ahead of the money until both are counted.
The monthly review sets the coming month against the Pune calendar: the next school opening, the next festival hold, or the monsoon. Targets change there, unless your costs move sharply in between.
Our fee carries GST at 18% on its own line, and media spend is billed to you by the platforms. The full method sits on our performance marketing services page.
